PICK A MATERNITY DRESS THAT HUGS YOUR BUMP FOR YOUR PHOTOS
The whole point of a maternity session is to show off that beautiful pregnancy bump!
Like most sessions, I always recommend a solid color and a mellow print. Want to know the rule of thumb when choosing your outfit? Stay away from super bright colors and busy patterns.
MY FAVORITE COLORS FOR YOUR MATERNITY SESSION:
- White/Cream
- Baby Blue
- Pastels
If you need help finding dresses, I recommend checking out Pink Blush. They have lots of options for maternity dresses and are always running really good deals!
CHOOSE THE RIGHT TIME FOR YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
My recommendation: 32 – 36 weeks!
If you shoot to have your maternity session around this time frame, you will definitely have a baby bump! Again, this is kind of the whole point of a maternity session!
You also won’t be so close to your due date that your photos are unbearable!
BRING SPECIAL PROPS IF YOU WOULD LIKE
Whenever you add props to your maternity session, it adds a little bit of special personalization to the photos!
IDEAS FOR PROPS:
- Ultrasound Photos
- Hats
- Felt Boards
INCLUDE YOUR OTHER KIDS IN YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
Don’t be afraid to include your other kids as well!
Trust me when I say that there is nothing is cuter than your firstborn giving your belly kisses! They are just enjoying the last few weeks before your family adds another little one to the mix!
DON’T BE AFRAID TO GLAM IT UP, MAMA
Make sure you feel the best on your session day!
Maybe get your hair and makeup professionally done! In the days leading up to your photos, take some time for yourself and go buy a new dress!
I promise you that won’t regret it!
If you’re anything like me when I was pregnant, some days you just don’t feel that pregnancy glow that everyone talks so much about! Make sure you take extra special care of yourself so that you feel like the beautiful woman you are!
