Celina, TX. It’s a suburb located 30 minutes north of Dallas, TX.
Why did you start your photography business?
My husband gifted me with a Canon Rebel T3i for Valentine’s Day (which also happens to be our official anniversary) early in our marriage. I quickly showed interest in taking pictures of everything around me – whether it be places we’d travel to or pictures of family and friends. When we later had children, they then became my subjects for pictures. I loved documenting everything that involved their day-to-day. Slowly, I began charging and figured it’d be fun to have a business and get paid for doing something I enjoyed so much.
What keeps you going when business is tough?
The love and support from my husband keeps me going day in and day out. Throughout this photography journey, he has been my #1 supporter and cheerleader. His words of encouragement and belief in me keeps me going even when I don’t believe in myself.
What are your goals for the next year?
My goals for my business next year is to know the in’s and out of having a photography business and continue learning. Having joined Ashley and Lauren‘s Business Mastermind, I am confident that everything I learn is going to fill in the gaps of what my business currently needs and take my business to the next level. I have goals to learn how to market my business better and to start a blog. I also want to learn how to drive traffic to my website with SEO. I’d like to strategically plan my sessions out for the year to avoid burnout while growing my business to become profitable and sustainable. I want to edit quicker and have more consistency with my editing workflow. I have larger goals to one day have my own studio and a field of wildflowers on my own land. And lastly, I want to have a better work-life balance so that I can show my children and husband that I can be successful and enjoy what I do but also be fully present for them.
What are you most proud of in your business?
I am most proud of myself for learning how to shoot in manual mode! Also, I haven’t let fear hold me back from the many learning opportunities I’ve had. I am also proud of the imagery I’ve been able to create and the experience I’ve been able to provide for my sweet families.
