Virginia Beach Spring Mini Sessions are here! It’s been a LONG winter and I can’t wait for sunshine and warmth!
Did you know that Spring starts the first busy season of the year for photographers? Once the weather warms up, families start booking quickly to update their family pictures before it gets too hot in the summer. Spring sessions have a completely different look to them verses the fall and Christmas pictures too!
That often means that we get booked out pretty quickly for the Spring! This is why there is a solution for you: MINI SESSIONS!
Mini sessions are perfect for busy families. They are quick and you are able to get beautiful images without having to break the bank.
Here are some questions I get most regarding these sessions:
1. How do you book a mini session?
First find a photographer that matches the style that you are wanting. Personally, I do two locations for my Spring mini sessions: a park or the beach here in Virginia Beach, VA!
Make sure the date and time works well for you. Make sure it doesn’t interfere with Spring Break or any Holidays! Picking a time that fits your availability is huge!
If you have children, make sure that the photography know how to specifically photography kids! Patience is key here so find a photographer who knows how to interact and can capture those cute smiles!
Are you a fan of pictures showcasing playful games or posed candids? Make sure you pick a photographer that matches this! Personally, I like to do both, but I love those fun candid moments!
2. What do you do after you book a mini session?
It is time to plan your outfits! Spring is a fun time where we can break out those dresses and shorts! Make sure you stay away from any bright colors that can cast a shadow on your face, no one wants to look red or orange in their photos!

Make sure the family is prepared. Talk to your kids about the session and what to expect. Sessions go so much better when the parents have taken time before to talk with their children!

Talk to your photographer to see when you should expect the images back. I tend to make sure my families have their images within 2-3 weeks after the shoot.
